Betsy and Rob's Wedding, Sept. 27

An outstanding setting and a really fun couple made for great day of photos at Boulder Lodge at the Liberty Resort in Fairfield. Betsy and Rob picked a spectacular setting amid the mountains. The lodge itself had beautiful natural light from the gigantic windows and soaring ceilings of the beamed hall. We crossed our fingers against the rain and were able to take advantage of some of the views. Unfortunately, just in time for the ceremony, the rain decided to come down for real. Although they really had their hearts set on getting married outside, they were too focused on each other and becoming husband and wife to let it bother them! There was much laughter and happy tears and we created some beautiful images together! Thanks Betsy and Rob for sharing your day with Katie (my assistant) and I. It was great.

The wedding of Stephanie and Chris, Morningside Inn

I was so pleased to be able to shoot the wedding of Stephanie and Chris at Morningside Inn in Mt. Pleasant. I was married there 13 years ago and I hadn't been back since. Wow, the changes they have made. But one thing that hadn't changed was the beautiful landscape. I was so excited to photograph the wedding that I was up at the crack of dawn and photographed the sunrise over the trees behind the Inn. A heavy fog was brewing on the lake and it made for some great atmosphere. Made me wish we had weddings at 7:30 in the morning.... almost.

Chris and Stephanie arrived shortly thereafter. Stephanie burst out of her suv smiling widely and I don't think she stopped smiling the whole day! She and Chris were fantastic subjects for the formal poses and forgot all about me for the rest of the time... just like I like it! The best photos are when everyone is acting naturally. I was able to get some quiet intimate moments happening between them in the midst of the celebrations and some exuberant moments too!

Betsy and Rob engagment photos

This is my first blog...ever. So I decided to start with an engagment session with Betsy and Rob from Labor Day weekend at Greenbrier Park. We were to meet at the park at 4:30 and when we all got there, the park was closed! because it was too full! Wow, who would have guessed that. But with a little humor and finding the least populated areas of the park , we were able to get some fantastic images. I can't wait for the wedding!
