Happy Holidays!

I love this time of year! Somehow, after years of practice, we've arranged our personal lives so that Christmas and the holiday season is as enjoyable as possible.
We've shortened our Christmas gift list to just the kids. Although, "Santa" does sneak in some presents for my husband and I! We share the holidays equally between our families, Thanksgiving at one house and Christmas, on Christmas day, on another. No more multiple dinners and festivities on the same day.
We emphasize our gifts from God, our many blessings and the miracle of the Christmas story.

After spending many weeks photographing images to create holiday cards for my clients and friends, I regret that I must say, I do not do the same for my own family. You know the old saying, the shoemakers kids don't have any shoes.

However, my son, who loves his dog, wanted a photo of the two of them in festive holiday attire. So I share this hastily taken photo, warmly send you a virtual hug and wish you a Merry Christmas and a bountiful and blessed New Year!!

Steve and Sandy tied the knot on the most unique of settings, the Walkersville Southern Railroad in Walkersville. The intimate wedding started with "first look" photos in the Pullman rail car and then moved to the ceremony in the dining car, followed by dinner, a murder mystery, some singing along with the piano and lots of love and laughter among their closest family and friends.

Needless to say, I was thrilled to be photographing in such a historic and elegant setting with such a fun and loving couple. We made the most of every moment as they playfully posed.

Thank you Steve and Sandy for allowing me to share in your amazing day. I enjoyed every minute of it!

How beautiful and elegant is this?! The dining car of the Walkersville Southern Railroad where the ceremony took place.

I love this moment between them in the extraordinary setting of the Pullman rail car which is being refurbished.

They had so much fun together during their wedding.

Now that's a look of love!

Casey and Matt...Married!

Casey and Matt were married on the brilliant but cold, auspicious date of 11/11/11 in Thurmont. Casey was the first bride I ever saw that was trembling with joy at the altar. The smile never left her face as she and Matt exchanged their vows. Their ceremony was touching and lovely and ended with a special "pinky kiss".
I have to give a major shout out to the couple and the bridal party, who stood through photos on the Maple Run Golf course and made it look as if they were not freezing when they were out there!
Anxious to get warm on their way to the reception, Matt and Casey snuggled for warmth in the final photos set against the backdrop of an amazing sunset!
Thank you to the new Mr. and Mrs Moser  for allowing us (me and assistant Colleen) to be a part of your day.

Love this moment between Casey and her mother just before the ceremony.

In love? Yes, but I think they were also snuggling for warmth on this one! Brrrrr!

The wedding of Amy and Sean

Amy and Sean were married at Pier 5 Hotel in the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. A gorgeous venue and a fantastic couple. After a few sprinkles, the weather cooperated and beautiful light streamed down on them as they said their vows in front of a back drop of seawater and skyline. They were so happy and relaxed that they both had time to joke with me by asking if my eleven year-old son was going to be my assistant, as he had accompanied us for their engagement photos. And actually, if he had, I think they would have been fine with it!

My assistant Nancy and I had a great day with the newlyweds, their family and friends. Thank you Amy and Sean for inviting us to be a part of your day.

The "first look". The first time the two had seen each other in their wedding attire, before the wedding.

Recessing in a flurry of flower petals.
What a great place for photos, a lighthouse right next to the hotel!

The first dance as husband and wife. Are they happy or what!

I loved the fun side of these two!

This is a favorite of mine.

A night to remember!

The wedding of Kelly and Brian

Love, love. love this photo in the pines hear the church!
Kelly and Brian managed to get married the only day that DIDN'T rain that week, but they were prepared! :)

The thing that struck me the most about Kelly and Brian was how insanely happy they are together. Their engagement session was full of laughter and their wedding was no different. Being blessed with the only day that didn't rain that week, they had a beautiful day. They were so at ease with each other and their calm assurance that this was absolutely the best day of their lives was reflected in the entire day.
I want to thank Kelly and Brian and Kelly's family, who I felt so much at home with, for inviting me to be a part of this special day.
